Power generation and plant engineering are closely linked and form the foundation of our activities.

In the thermal field, EDF is committed both to training activities for its partners and also to supervising thermal worksites.

Temane - support for the CCGT project

To meet Mozambique's growing electricity demand, Globelec took the lead in 2018 to develop a CCGT (Combined Cycle Gas Turbine) plant in Temane with an installed capacity of 450 MW. Located in southern Mozambique and supplied by the Pande-Temane Inhassoro gas fields, the plant will supply 1.5 million households, or 14% of current Mozambican electricity demand.

From April 2019 to January 2022, EDF Ingeum, drawing on its experience in the construction of thermal power plants, assisted Globeleq for the first development phase of the project. Today, EDF CIST-INGEUM continues to invest in this thermal project by supporting the project company (Globeleq, Sasol and EDM) for project management assistance during the second phase of engineering and construction of the Temane power plant.
